Using search

Find any Magic card in ScryDeck’s catalog — by name, Scryfall syntax, or natural-language Smart Search.

Open search

Search is the fastest way to add a card you already know the name of, explore the full catalog, or run advanced queries across every printing.

Results come from a unified fan-out: fuzzy name matching, Smart Search (semantic), and Scryfall syntax — ScryDeck picks the right path based on what you type.

  1. Open search

Tap Search in the app navigation or go to `/search`. Type your query in the search bar and press Enter or tap the search button to run it.

Search uses submit-on-commit — results do not update on every keystroke. This keeps queries fast and avoids burning API calls on half-finished text.

  2. Read the results

Results appear in a grid or list view. Toggle between them with the view switcher in the toolbar.

Tap a card to open its detail drawer — add to collection, view price history, or inspect printings from there. Long-press to enter multi-select mode and add several cards at once.

  3. Switch to sets browse

Use the Cards / Sets tabs at the top to jump between card search and the set browser. Sets is the better surface when you want to explore a specific release card-by-card.

  4. Filter search branches (optional)

Advanced users can toggle which search engines run — fuzzy, Smart Search (semantic), and Scryfall — from the filter menu. All three are on by default.

Turn off branches you do not need, for example Scryfall-only mode when you want pure syntax results.
