Every scan that reaches ScryDeck’s identification pipeline counts against your quota. Browsing your collection and managing cards does not consume scans — only camera captures that are sent for identification do.

Free tier scans
Free accounts get two scan buckets:
- Welcome boost — 150 one-time bonus scans for new accounts. Requires a verified email. Uses the boost before daily scans kick in.
- Daily scans — 50 per day after the welcome boost is used up. Resets each calendar day on the server.

Pro tier scans
Pro removes daily scan limits entirely. There is no welcome boost on Pro — unlimited scanning starts immediately.
Pro also removes the 1,000-card collection cap and unlocks full price history and portfolio charts.

Unverified email
Welcome boost scans require email verification. If you have not verified yet, ScryDeck skips the boost and applies your daily limit instead — you can still scan, but you will not receive the 150 bonus until you verify.

When you hit the limit
The scanner returns an error and shows an upgrade prompt. You can still browse, search, and manage your existing collection — you just cannot run new identifications until the daily counter resets or you upgrade.
Free users who hit the 1,000-card collection cap see a similar upgrade prompt when adding cards, independent of scan limits.

Beta accounts
Beta testers receive Pro-level scan limits during the beta period regardless of billing status.
