Most apps only count how many copies you have. ScryDeck tracks what each copy represents — a card you physically own, a proxy, something you still need, or a copy you sold or lost.
Statuses appear on collection rows, deck lists, and portfolio breakdowns. Changing a status updates how the card counts toward your collection value.
-
The active statuses
Every card copy in ScryDeck has one of these statuses:
- Owned — a physical copy in your library. Counts toward owned collection value and card totals.
- Proxy — a stand-in (printed proxy, placeholder, or test card). Tracked separately from owned copies; useful for deck building without counting toward owned value.
- Need — labeled Not owned in the edit drawer. A placeholder for a card you want but do not have yet. Common in deck lists when you import or build before acquiring cards.
-
Sold & Lost (portfolio tracking)
Sold and Lost are part of ScryDeck’s collection model and appear in portfolio breakdowns when applicable. They represent copies you traded away or no longer have.
The instance edit drawer today offers Owned, Proxy, and Not owned. Dedicated UI for marking cards sold or lost is still rolling out.

How statuses appear in the app
Collection and deck views show badges for proxy and need cards so you can spot placeholders at a glance.
The collection value widget breaks down counts by status — owned, proxy, need, sold, and lost — so you see what is actually in your binders versus what is still on your wish list.

Change a card’s status
Open a card in your collection and use the instance edit drawer. Choose Owned, Proxy, or Not owned from the status picker.
When you mark a proxy or need card as Owned, ScryDeck sets the acquisition date to now and records an acquisition price from current market data — useful when you finally pick up a copy you were tracking as a placeholder.

Statuses in decks
Adding a card to a deck you do not own creates a need (not owned) placeholder in that deck.
If you already own or proxy a loose copy, ScryDeck moves that copy into the deck instead of duplicating it.
Removing a need placeholder from a deck deletes the row. Removing an owned or proxy copy moves it back to your loose collection.
